It can be frustrating when you see something in our home that you love, and we let you know that an item in our home is vintage. So today, we rounded up a full mood board of our cozy bedroom makeover – and we included similar pieces to our vintage finds! Before we share that, I wanted to give a few call-outs to a few pieces we brought into the room and can’t stop raving about.
Cotton Cloud Jersey Duvet Set
Most of our bedding is sateen or linen, but when I first touched this jersey bedding set, it was all I could think about. When I say this bedding is soft, I mean, it’s like petting the most delicate fur on a bunny’s belly. It’s SO soft. I love the pinstripe texture, the weight, and the variety of color options! Not a single night goes by where we don’t say aloud, I’m obsessed with this bedding! We bought the duvet cover and shams in the color oatmeal, and I’ve been pairing it with a rotating cast of sheets.
Velvet Disc Pillow
These round pillows aren’t squishy and soft, rather, they’re perfect firm discs that look great tossed – literally – anywhere! They normally hang out in the playroom for floor pillows, but we tossed them on the bed in our newly red room, and magic happened. They look great by themselves, but I prefer them in an imperfect row of 3 or more. I’m eyeing the ‘wine’ or ‘amber’ colors for The Red House!
Velvet Curtains
These curtains are extra wide, extra long, and come in every color of the rainbow. They added a soft texture and rich color that kicked our bedroom up a notch! The price is unbeatable for the width alone, making it a great option for wide sliding doors or a long run of windows.
8. Floating Nightstand, $336
Our closet doors swing open towards the bed, leaving a narrow space for a nightstand. We used to have a small marble shelf, but Scott craved more space for chapstick, a glass of water and a space to charge his phone. During the hunt, I found this floating nightstand made from walnut, mimicking the finish of our bed and my nightstand! Despite its compact size, the drawer holds a good amount of stuff to hide away any clutter.
Get the Look
It was tough to single out a few favorites! I’d like to throw in an honorable mention for the area rug, which is soft, cushy and thick, along with this budget frame in the prettiest brassy finish.
