Spring has sprung! Here are a few easy changes we make to bring spring indoors when the weather starts to shift.

It’s finally feeling warmer here in Chicago! We’ve certainly had a few beautiful spring days, but there have also been a few freakishly cold and nasty days in the last few weeks. And now that spring break is behind us, we’re fully focused on setting up our outdoor areas for the season while also bringing some cheery touches indoors. These are few simple changes we make with the seasons every year to remind us that brighter days are ahead!

1| New Frame TV Art
We’ve pretty much accepted the fact that if we’re going to have a TV in a space, it needs to look great when we’re not watching it. Nobody wants to stare into the big black void surrounded by a glossy black frame that dominates the space, right? Every TV in our home and in our Michigan Airbnb is a Samsung Frame TV. We love that Samsung’s art mode allows us to switch things up seasonally or for special occasions like birthday parties. We have a few spring floral options downloaded to our library and are always on the hunt for more from our favorite Etsy sellers!

2| Fresh Throw Pillow Covers
Swapping throw pillow covers seasonally is another inexpensive and easy way to bring a seasonal touch to a room. We like to purchase high-quality down inserts in a standard size like 18″ x 18″ and keep a few covers on hand. With a little strategic sale shopping, you can purchase discounted bright spring and summer colors in the fall and discounted moody earth tones in the spring and have a rotating series of covers for the same set of pillow forms.

3| Cheery Florals

Fresh florals are fantastic, but the cost of keeping them looking good can add up quickly. We’ve swapped over to faux florals for most of our large-format vases and much like the pillow cover example above, we’ve purchased a few sets that can be changed throughout the year. Extra branches and faux stems store in a zippered storage bin under our bed, and we pull from it seasonally to keep things feeling fresh.

4| Lighter and Brighter Bedding

As the weather warms, we change out our duvet covers for something both visually and physically lighter. We also swap in a lighter weight down alternative duvet. We find that in the winter, we want the physical weight and heft of a heavier insert to keep cozy. Spring and summer temps call for cool and breathable fabrics.

Feels Like Spring (Finally!)
We’ve been loving the green botanical frame TV art, but might just swap it out for the minimalist swimmers as we get closer to summer!
