Giveaway: Little Korboose

This giveaway is no longer accepting entries. Thank you to all who participated!

Yup, their name may ring a bell from our holiday gift guide, and Litte Korboose is no stranger to one our favorite haunts, the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair. And yes, we’re also excited to announce that they’re sponsoring this week’s giveaway – whee!

Based out of Cleveland, Little Korboose is a super fun design and illustration shop that doles out unique screen printed tees for tots, sustainable housewares, and recycled notecards, to name just a few. April, the head honcho behind this creative endeavor, creates pieces that are fun, young, and reminescent of childhood. With the majority of her inspiration stemming from her kitty, Corbusier, we can totally relate. Our fuballs run the household, so their wishes to sleep happy and eat ’til they’re full is our command.

Just check out some of April’s hand drawn designs, brought to life in picnic friendly melamine trays and bowls (as featured on Apartment Therapy)…

And the always handy tote (to stash the picnic-ware?), along with furniture friendly coasters for the oh-so-conscious host in you.

And if you’re as smitten by her child-like designs as we are, perhaps you’d like to share the love with a set of notecards? Up for grabs, Little Korboose is giving one lucky reader a set of seven notecards in one of three choices: a) bicycles, b) scoops or c) cupcakes. Printed on recycled paper, April is an advocate of using organic and natural materials whenever possible. Now that’s a perk we like to hear, but on to the tough part – picking your favorite.

So, what’ll it be?

Up for grabs: One lucky winner will receive a set of 7 notecards in their choice of a) bicycles, b) scoops or c) cupcakes
To enter: Simply comment on this post with the set of your choice, and dish a childhood memory if you’re feelin’ the love
Giveaway ends: Tuesday, January 26th, 6pm EST
Shipping restrictions: US of A only, please

Only one entry for every email address is permitted.  The lucky-dog winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Wednesday, January 27th.  On a side note, is anyone else suddenly craving some sugar?

Oh how do you choose?? Cupcakes make my heart go pitter-patter so if I was to win, that would have to be the one I chose.

However, the bicycles are the ones that spark a childhood memory. Reminds me of when my sister taught me (and all of my friends) how to ride ten-speeds on her pink Schwinn in our childhood home’s cul-de-sac. Such a good sister.ReplyCancel

  • Sarah1.20.10 - 9:44 AM

Oooh! I LOVE the bicycle lovelies. I would choose those because I am instantly reminded of running my bike into a stop sign near our house. I was obviously scarred for life.ReplyCancel

  • Tom Joe1.20.10 - 9:59 AM

I LOVE the bicycles as well! But it reminds me when I tried to do a fun trick on my bike but ended up breaking my arm instead :(

I would have to go with the SCOOPS though because I can’t break my arm eating ice cream!ReplyCancel

  • pam1.20.10 - 10:53 AM

Cupcakes! All the designs are sweet.ReplyCancel

  • Hails1.20.10 - 10:53 AM

how could I NOT pick the bikes when there are 4 in the living room at any given moment?
but my childhood memory involves ice cream.
I was maybe 3 or 4 and it was hot as hell with my folks eating ice cream at this ice cream shoppe that was actually an old train caboose. And there was oddly enough, a newspaper camera guy taking pics and he took one of me with ice cream and I was quoted as saying “qwick, it’s dwipping!” I think my mom saved the newspaper clipping.
My mom STILL says that to this day if anything is dripping.ReplyCancel

  • Count me in for the scoops!

I remember getting tricked by that faux ice cream cupcake dessert (the one where the cupcake is cooked inside of a sugar cone) when I was a kid. Cupcakes are great, but it’s not fair to trick a hungry 8-year-old ready for ice cream!ReplyCancel

  • Danielle1.20.10 - 1:02 PM

“A”, please!!! The bikes are too cute!

I had a rainbow bright bike that I rode till I was 11. I use to pretend it was a car and back it into my garage. Yes, I am a nerd.ReplyCancel

  • Rachael1.20.10 - 1:35 PM

Ice cream for sure! I worked at an ice cream shop growing up, and was known to eat 2 cones a day (ah, the good ‘ole days…) Plus, I had a super strong right arm from scooping- I could take any neighborhood kid on at arm wrestling!ReplyCancel

  • Kate1.20.10 - 2:15 PM

    Ohhh… LOVE the bicycles!ReplyCancel

  • Susan Galbraith1.20.10 - 3:10 PM

Gosh, hard choice – love all three designs, but I think I would go with the scoops since my story has to do with ice cream (though it’s a story about my kids and not from my own childhood).

Being super careful parents, my husband and I did not give our daughter – first born – any sweets until she was about three years old. Meanwhile baby number two arrives and all four of us are at an ice cream drive-in place and the three of us are eating ice cream when I turn around and see Abby sharing her ice cream cone with Jack – who at this time is about nine months old! How can you be mad when a three year old is sharing with her brother? You can’t and we all laughed.

I have another story about peeling grapes for Abby, but that will have to wait for another day… :-)ReplyCancel

  • Sara Reat1.20.10 - 3:23 PM

Cupcakes sure do speak to my little heart!

The first memory I thought of was once when I was little (maybe 6 or 7) and I asked my dad for a bite of his mashed potatoes. So he told me to close my eyes and open my mouth. But instead of delicious mashed potatoes, he gave me a gross brussel sprout! I was so upset with him that he gave me an extra cupcake for dessert! That is still one of our favorite stories to laugh about…and the funny thing is, I love brussel sprouts now, but still don’t like to admit that to dad :)ReplyCancel

  • Grace S1.21.10 - 11:04 AM

I like all of her designs! I like the bicycles coasters, they are adorable! Thanks for the great giveaway!

Sorry, I just read that bit about the childhood memory…I had a very carefree childhood and if there is anything that stands out, it would be coming back from school everday and wading in the rice fields in front of my house with my best friend and neighbour.(I am from north Malaysia, and my state was the major rice producer for the country)We’d catch tadpoles, examine insects and occasionally, a leech would stick itself on one of us. Sadly, those fields are gone now, replaced by houses. It was pure fun!ReplyCancel

  • Megan1.21.10 - 11:10 AM

So hard to choose, but cupcakes it is!

Playing dress up in my grandma’s high heels. I would walk around for hours in those!ReplyCancel

  • Emily1.21.10 - 11:30 AM

I’d love the cupcakes! A fun childhood memory was when I got really confused and couldn’t understand why my British friends were calling cupcakes “fairy cakes.” Thanks for the giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • Penina1.21.10 - 11:34 AM

I pick cupcakes because they’re delicious and I kinda want one right now!
I’ll give a childhood memory about a bike though – when I was about 4, i took off for a spin around the ‘hood on my trike with no shoes on and gashed open my big toe! The neighbors had to take me in, patch me up, and call my mom.ReplyCancel

  • jullee1.21.10 - 11:40 AM

Adorable!! I think I would pick the scoops..but it was terribly difficult to decide.

When I was a little girl I loved playing dress-ups with my cat and my neighbors cat. I would dress them up and pretend that they were my babies. It was all fun and games until my neighbors cat had to “go” while dressed up.ReplyCancel

  • Marci1.21.10 - 12:05 PM

I like the Scoops set! So fun! Hmmmmmmm… well now that got me thinking about my favorite ice cream memory. I had an ice cream birthday cake for my 16th birthday party. It was chocolately and full of frosting–so yummy! My best memory from that day is that cake (although the rest of the day was pretty sweet too!). :)ReplyCancel

  • Marci1.21.10 - 12:08 PM

I like the cupcake set the best. One of my favorite childhood memories is picking strawberries in a strawberry patch with my grandma, mom, and siblings! Good Summer-times!!!ReplyCancel

    Love the sweet cupcake set!ReplyCancel

  • Colleen1.21.10 - 12:29 PM

These notecards are so cute! I’d pick the bicycles just because so many of my friends use their bikes to get around.ReplyCancel

  • Brittney1.21.10 - 12:54 PM

    Love the bikes!ReplyCancel

  • Amy's Stocking Stuffers1.21.10 - 12:55 PM

Oh my, they are so cute! I would choose the ice cream cones. That brings to mind the ice cream truck that would come around the neighborhood. I would always get the same thing, although I forget what it’s called. It was a swirled sherbert in a plastic cone-shaped dish, with a gumball buried at the bottom.

    Thanks for the fun giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • Tracey at Home N Heart1.21.10 - 2:03 PM

Oh I looove all 3! I would love the oh so cute bicycles! It would give me a good reason to send a note to my girlfriends back in my hometown.

I remember pretending that my bike was my horse growing up! I never had a horse and wanted one so badly. My bike had to do…ReplyCancel

  • leslie1.21.10 - 2:13 PM

Cupcakes, got to be the cupcakes. YUM.

    I’m lovin’ the Scoops!

I can remember sitting out on the curb, waiting for the ice cream truck, thinking I was such a big girl to be able to buy ice cream all by myself. I never noticed my dad at the door, watching my every move lol.ReplyCancel

    A! I’m amazed!

It reminds me of my epic attempts to ride a bike in my neighborhood as a child. Treacherous. Many scars.
    Ugly helmets.

These cards are a brighter picture of that interesting time.ReplyCancel

  • Sam1.23.10 - 8:11 PM

I really dig the cupcake design. They would be fun to give as a thinking of you card.
A fond childhood memory i’d like to share come from when I would ask my mom to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. She would pretend to wave a magic fairy wand and say “Poof! You’re a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!” That always made me laugh. I love my mom. <3ReplyCancel

  • Ann1.23.10 - 10:17 PM

After contemplating I’m going with the bikes, but I really like the cupcakes too.
I remember riding my bike when I was a kid to get ice cream (with my brother). It started to rain on the way home. I was certain that I could get home without loosing my ice cream cone…but as I was in the home stretch…on our dirt road….on a street names Ault (which sounds like a burp when you say it) my mint chocolate chip ice cream plopped onto the muddy road. I cried and cried!!! My brother laughed and laughed. Scarred!ReplyCancel

  • amy1.23.10 - 10:19 PM

I love the way hand-drawn looks – so cute and fun. Definitely bicycles! My hubs & I love to “ground pound!” My childhood memories include my fab pink/gray 10-speed Huffy & riding on the back of my friend’s bike to school only to gouge the crap outta my ankle in the spokes! I also remember trying to get on an adult-sized road bike, again only to gouge my knee on the (remember these?) spiky metal pedal! Sheesh!ReplyCancel

  • Carol1.24.10 - 5:33 AM

I love A, the bicycles! So cute!
    childhood memory…
I was walking my bike up a trail with a friend one day when she screamed. I, of course, got scared and ran, not knowing what she was even screaming about. While I was running, I tripped and fell over my bike :( Turns out, there were raccoons like 20 feet away from us, and that’s what scared her.I should never run without thinking!

Haha, thought it was relevant, considering my choice.ReplyCancel

  • Courtney1.24.10 - 10:19 PM
