Our guest bedroom is getting a cheery update! These are our plans.

Let’s Give Our Guest Room a Cheery Makeover
Our guest room has seen several changes over the years, as I feel is common for guest rooms, don’t you think? It’s the room that receives the leftover furniture, it’s where we experiment with paint colors, and they may lack cohesion. This room started as a pale green (with a salvaged headboard we found in the alley!), which evolved into a moody charcoal, and most recently, the shape changed entirely when we renovated our kitchen (which shares a wall).
It’s fun to experiment with a room that doesn’t get used too often; it doesn’t feel as scary as, say, going bold with paint in the living room. But after subtle and mostly safe changes over the decade-plus of living in our Chicago home, I felt the urge to make this room super intentional, cozy and cheery! When Scott mentioned the idea of wallpapering the room, my heart skipped a beat. Yes!
Our Guest Room Mood Board
The wallpaper is what kicked off the design, but we’ll be working around the existing main pieces: bed frame, headboard and dresser. And do you see those paint swatches below? I can’t wait to share with you how we plan on incorporating both colors into the room!

1. sherwin williams inky blue | 2. sherwin williams poolhouse | 3. vanity mirror | 4. poppies wallpaper | 5. indra dresser | 6. eaton irregular mirror | 7. luis table lamp | 8. squiggle arm wall sconce | 9. floating wood nightstand | 10. freya flange headboard | 11. mauree velvet pillow | 12. vera wang sheet set | 13. cross stitch quilt set | 14. ball cabinet knob | 15. platform bed | 16. vintage turkish rug
