Our Favorite Season
Fall is arguably the best season. Especially here in the upper Midwest. This year in particular, the weather has been stunning. Bluebird skies, crispy leaves underfoot and temperatures that are shockingly pleasant. It’s been he kind of weather where you can wear almost anything and be comfortable. We’ve celebrated so far with the quintessential outdoor activities. Apple picking, the pumpkin patch and our neighborhood’s inaugural ‘County Fair’, where Kitty and her foster sister, Sweet Pea, won the blue ribbon prize for ‘Best Dog Dressed as a Farm Animal’.
Bring Outdoor Scents In
The sights and sounds of fall are fantastic, but the smells are the real hero. Of course, the usual suspects like leaves, pumpkins and apples all make appearances, but let’s not limit ourselves! Fall also feels earthy, with hints of musk and late-season florals. There’s smoke from campfires and the warmth of hearty food from the kitchen. In our opinion, the scents of fall aren’t just the stereotypical varieties. Things can get more complicated. More complex. Dare we say, Weirder?
