Investing in a leather arm chair is investing in an heirloom. Today, we’re sharing 23 chairs for every style and budget!

If well cared for with an appropriate leather conditioner, (this is our favorite!) a high-quality piece of leather furniture can last a lifetime. While leather furniture often times is a larger investment, leather’s potential for longevity can make it a fantastic value. We think of leather furniture as an heirloom. That said, a high-quality leather chair doesn’t need to cost a fortune! So, at the request of a reader (hi, Tammy!), we’ve rounded up over 20 leather and vegan leather alternatives at several price points.
Can you provide a link to your leather chair and other similar lounge chairs? Maybe at a few different price points?
— Tammy
We’ve divided the chairs into three pricing categories. The first and least expensive category does include a few faux and vegan leather alternatives, which have been noted accordingly. Much like genuine leather, the quality and durability of these leather alternatives can vary widely. Some are nearly indistinguishable from leather, others may feel plastic-y or overly synthetic. That said, it’s always a good idea to research reviews and feedback to ensure that each piece is the right choice for individual needs.

Last but not least in our roundup is the aforementioned Gunnison chair from our friends at Unison Home, a Chicago hometown brand! In the few years that we’ve owned it, the piece has proven to be incredibly durable and sturdy. It feels solid, is incredibly heavy, and it’s arguably the chair that company is consistently vying for.
We personally love the way that leather shows a gentle patina over time and gets softer and softer with each use. We wipe our leather furniture down with a damp cloth every few weeks and maintain it periodically with Leather CPR. Beyond that, it’s largely maintenance free and we intend to cherish it for decades to come. We hope this list was helpful and we’d love to hear from you on any favorites that we might have missed!
This is a great roundup! I recently hunted for a leather chair to love and ended up with two of the Engles chair from Arhaus. I got them for $1,699 each and plan to love them for years to come!
Awesome!!
Love a good leather chair, we put in 2 white leather recliners last year and they are the most coveted spots in the house!
Ooh, sounds gorgeous!
Your chair is so good! What a keeper!
We love her. :D
