Hello, Number 2

Hello, and welcome to our second floor walk up, nestled just off the boulevard in the hustle and bustle of Chicago.  My husband, Scott, and I live alongside our two fuzzy cats, one spunky puppy, and tank full of colorful fish.  In our quest to convert our itsy bitsy condo into a happy and comfy home, we’ve decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon and document our story.  It only made sense that our first post should welcome you, literally, to our front door.  Scott snagged this unique piece by a local artist, James, during a show at Revolution Tattoo.  With a small swatch of velcro, it has become a staple upon entering our home.

And just to avoid any future awkwardness, I’m Kim.  I have an addiction to decorative pillows, gaudy photo frames, scarves, and red wine.  Sometimes I wish I could learn to buy an item off the shelf and not alter it with a fresh coat of paint, but perhaps that’s why I feel compelled to blog about these so-called issues of mine.  I tend to get very excited over rummage sale finds and the potential they have, and I know there are people out there who share that same enthusiasm.  I like to think that’s why we’re starting this blog.  I know we’re not alone out here.

So from our home-sweet-home to yours, “Hello!”

Hi, I like the little painting, but can you discuss the #2? I find that interesting & also does it create a problem with your neighbors? Does your condo association have a rule about common areas? The number is so modern and sleek. Makes me want to put a 3E on my door.ReplyCancel

Penina: It’s because we’re always opening the door before you get a chance to see it! Maybe next time you come over, we’ll let you knock first.

KC: No problems with the neighbors at all. In fact, after we put up our unit number, so did the rest of the folks in our building. The interesting thing is that each unit has their own taste and style, so all the numbers are different. It makes for an eclectic look.ReplyCancel

    Kim,
I think you work Scott way too hard. He should be doing more bicycling. You also spoke of frosty mugs. Maybe that is another option on a hot Chicago day. Great Blog! You creativity is amazing. How can I buy an ad space?

    Kim,
I think you work Scott way too hard! He appeared to be sweating in one of the pictures. Maybe he should be off riding one of those bikes hanging on the office wall? I enjoy reading your blog. Your ideas along with your fun stories are very enjoyable. Please keep up the good work. Can I speak with you about running an ad on your blog? Please send me an E-mail.
    Thanks,
    DaveReplyCancel
