We’re talking through the newest way to tour and shop our primary home in Chicago with our friends at Openhaus!
Have you heard of Openhaus yet? If not, here’s the gist: it’s a brand new platform for virtual tours of some incredibly cool homes and buildings! Want to take a 3D tour of our Chicago home, then tour NASA’s Fuselage Trainer, then pop over for a quick peek through Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills Mansion all from your phone or laptop? You can do exactly that with Openhaus. While you’re looking around our home, you can click on an item that catches your eye, and in one click, be directed to where we purchased it (or shop a similar item).

How to Access the Tour on Desktop
So, how do you get to this slick new feature? On the Yellow Brick Home home page, you’ll go to the secondary menu bar and choose:
House Tour > Our Chicago Home > Virtual Tour

The tour can also be accessed via the footer at the bottom of the YBH home page as seen below. The footer menu steps are the same as above:
House Tour > Our Chicago Home > Virtual Tour

How to Access the Tour on Mobile
The same few steps are also true on a tablet or mobile device for people on the move! Starting with the Menu button in the top left corner, just click:
House Tour > Our Chicago Home > Virtual Tour

Shopping the Tour
As you navigate the 3D tour, you’ll notice ‘bullseye’ markers throughout. Each of those markers represents a shoppable item in our home!

Hovering over a marker brings up a small popup window that displays more info and a direct link to purchase or learn more. It’s simple and intuitive, and we love how it turned out!

Exploring Room by Room
‘Walking’ our home via the predetermined circles on the floor is a simple way to get around. However, if there’s a specific room you’d like to peek into, you can choose to hop from room to room by clicking on any space you’re interested in.

We hope you enjoy poking around through this brand new virtual tour option! Openhaus did a fantastic job of mapping our home, and we feel that it’s a true representation of the way the space feels in person. If you’re a little more traditional and prefer a photo tour or video tour, not to worry – those aren’t going anywhere, but you’ll also be able to access our Openhaus 3D virtual tour through the various menus.
We’d love to know what you think of this new way to tour and shop our home! What do you say we do the same for our Tree House?
This is so cool! I’m going to bookmark this so whenever I miss you and Chicago, I can stroll through your house like the good ol’ days.
xo
We miss you so much! 2020 hasn’t been the same without my yearly visit.
I love looking at matterport houses! This is so cool to see some real parts of your home too, like the finish on that butcher block island. I love being a part of your home, thanks for opening it up to us!
Aw, thanks, Julie!
