We’re discussing the mood board for our pantry renovation that will act as an extension of our recently-remodeled kitchen.
Last week, we revealed the 3D renderings of our walk-in pantry project and today we’re talking details! Since this space is designed to act as an extension of the kitchen, it’ll share many of the same touches. We’re also injecting some new finds to give it its own distinct personality.

Kitchen Similarities
Many of the pantry’s design elements are identical to the kitchen. Here’s a breakdown:
- Flooring | The maple hardwood flooring was replaced when we renovated the kitchen to prepare for this exact project. We chose to front load the expense of new floors in this room for a smooth transition between rooms. We hated spending the money at the time, but we’re so glad we did it back then!
- Cabinetry | The Madison cabinetry from Cabinet Joint in SW Reddened Earth will also carry over. The cabinet boxes will once again feature inset doors for a perfect match.
- Hardware | Speaking of cabinet doors, we’ll utilize a mix of door hardware in the kitchen’s same aged brass finish.
- Sconces | We’ll use the Pittock double sconce in aged brass as a nice unifier with the kitchen.
Kitchen Differences
While a lot of elements will carry over from the kitchen, we’ll mix it up in a way that feels cohesive without being a carbon copy.
- Wallpaper | This space is small, so we wanted to punch up the wall treatments a bit. The bold but striped pick from Spoonflower fit the bill perfectly. (Only 3 of you picked the stripes in our IG poll, but one of you mentioned that it was inevitable. You know us too well!)
- Ceiling fixture | We’re absolutely smitten with the Lorna flush mount fixture. It’ll bring a grand art deco vibe to the space.
- Countertops | We still absolutely love the black marble in the kitchen but wanted something a little warmer for this space. We’ll source maple butcher block for durability and budget friendliness.
- Decor | We’ll also mix up the smaller decor items in this space. Lamps, planters and rugs will vary from their kitchen counterparts for style points.
The Pantry Mood Board
As we mentioned, we’ll be working with a handful of our favorite brands to bring this vision to life, including our longtime partners, Rejuvenation, Spoonflower and Cabinet Joint. We’ve been planning for this project in the back of our minds since we started the kitchen renovation back in 2022 and we can’t wait to get started. Anyway, on to the mood board!

I can’t wait!! Will you keep the art you made of the old house nails? Or relocate somewhere? One of my favorite small touches y’all have ever done.
Hi! We’re not totally sure where it’ll land, but we’re definitely hanging on to it.
