Scott’s Picks: A Father’s Day Gift Guide

A gift guide this Father’s Day for the nature-loving, music-obsessed, DIY Dad! Keep reading for Scott’s hand selected picks.

Father’s day is always fun around here! I usually kick off the day with a quiet solo mountain bike ride on my favorite trail, then come home for lunch with the girls and a low-key afternoon. We’ll bop over to the farmer’s market to grab our favorite ingredients, then come back home for grilling and cocktails in the backyard. This year, however, we’ll celebrate on vacation so who knows what’s in store! These are some of my favorite father’s day gifts from past years and a few (ahem) that might be on my wish list for this year.

Father’s Day Gifts

1. Primula Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker

Cold brew is expensive, so we love to make it at home when possible. This brewer is compact and simple and fits in the door of our refrigerator beautifully.

2. Carhartt Onsite Tool Bag

This Carhartt tool bag is an absolute staple in our lives. We have a large version at home, a medium version in Michigan and a duffel bag version that contains random bits and bobs in our truck. It’s insanely high quality and will last a lifetime.

3. MagLite ML300LX Flashlight

MagLite is the OG of high quality flashlights. Sturdy, heavy duty and waterproof. This is a flashlight built to be used hard and put away wet.

4. Kid’s Drawing Embroidered Sweater

Lucy is quite the little artist and she pretty much never stops creating. The idea of a sweatshirt embroidered with one of her masterpieces is almost too cute to handle.

5. Uniqlo Premium Linen Shirt

I just stocked up on a couple of colors of this shirt for summer travel and casual date nights and I can’t wait to put it for the weather to warm up! Cool and breathable and sized perfectly.

6. Hatteker Beard Grooming Kit

I shave my head down to a #1 guard every 5 days and I’ve tried almost every clipper on the market. This one comes with half a dozen attachments and is fully waterproof for shower use. Highly recommend!

7. Extraordinary Records Coffee Table Book

We’ve been collecting records for over 20 years. For us, it’s as much about the beautiful large-scale artwork and colorful vinyl as it is about the music. This book catalogs it all.

8. Sonos Roam 2 Portable Waterproof Speaker

We’ve been recommending this portable speaker for years and we don’t intend to stop now! It packs huge sound into a tiny package and packs up small for travel. We kind of don’t leave home without it.

9. Pro-Ject Audiophile Turntable

Jumping back to our vinyl obsession collection, we’ve been using our Pro-Ject turntable for about 5 years. It’s simple enough that Lucy can use it unsupervised and it sounds fantastic. Clean lines and matte walnut never go out of style.

10. Boot Bananas Shoe Deodorizer

We use these in our sneakers, work boots and climbing shoes to keep things dry and smelling fresh. They’re chemical-free and they work wonders to mitigate shoe odors!

11. Nike Air Max 90 Shoes

I’ve owned multiple pairs of Air Max 90’s since the actual 90’s and they’ve never gone out of style. The classic silhouette can be dressed up or down and the colorways are pretty much endless at this point.

12. SingleNest Hammock

Dad deserves a break! This comfy, lightweight hammock is packable and can be strung up between any pair of trees for a relaxing afternoon siesta.

13. Solo Stove Bonfire with Stand

The solo stove burns cleaner than any fire pit we’ve ever experienced and everyone knows smoke is annoying. Set this up in the backyard for a proper evening of smores and extend outdoor hangs deep into fall!

14. Stainless Steel Grill Tool Set

High quality grilling tools make BBQ-ing even more enjoyable, but they’re big and there’s never really a great way to store them. This set comes in a beautiful box for tidy storage and quick deployment!

15. Smart Wireless Meat Thermometer

Pair this smart meat thermometer with the grilling tools above and dad will deliver perfectly cooked meat forever. He’ll be excited to use his new tools that he won’t even realize you’ve tasked him with a summer worth of dinner prep. Everyone wins!
