A Round-Up of Kim’s Favorite Jeans

I’ve rounded up the denim I wear every day, including straight, cropped, and wide-leg styles!

Finding the Perfect Fit

While some collect shoes or bags, I collect denim and can never seem to get enough. My favorite jeans can make the most simple uniform of a T-shirt and denim look phenomenal! Alternatively, I’m a firm believer that a pretty top can instantly ‘dress up’ a pair of jeans, especially when paired with a heel.

But the one ingredient needed for both scenarios to work is your perfect fit.

For me, that’s a high rise in a few of my favorite washes, typically light, mid-blue or a washed black. I also prefer the length to hit me at the ankle for a straight or tapered leg, or barely kissing the ground in a wider leg. That’s not to say that a low-slung pair of jeans are a ‘no,’ but knowing the best fit and colors for my body makes it easy peasy to get dressed each morning!

A quick tip: I find that jeans made with 100% cotton are the ones I reach for the most. They tend to hold their shape much better over multiple wears, and they get better with each and every wash. If stretch is an absolute must for you, I recommended sticking to no more than 1% elastane (such as Lycra or Spandex).

Kim’s Favorite Jeans

Discovering a perfect pair of jeans right off the rack can feel like finding a unicorn, but below, I’m sharing the jeans I own and LOVE that needed zero alterations! Many are available in petite and tall lengths along with many, many washes that fit your own personal preference. And a little friendly reminder that if a pair of jeans is perfect is all ways but one, a quick trip to your local dry cleaner can solve that! Alterations are typically $20 or less depending on if you’re cinching a waist gap (which will cost a little more) versus taking up the hem (which will cost a little less).

1. levi’s 94 baggy wide leg jean | 2. utility barrel pant | 3. 501 original jeans | 4. way-high gardener cropped jean | 5. 80s mom jeans | 6. ribcage straight ankle jeans | 7. ’90s cheeky jean | 8. extra high-waisted wide leg jeans

I wear all of these for any reason or occasion, but for an every day pair that goes with (literally) ev-er-y-thing, I can’t recommend the #7 cheeky jeans enough. A true go-to without any frills or flair, just THE perfect fit (and available in 3 lengths and at least 5 washes!). I’m 5’4″ and prefer the 26.5″ inseam to hit mid-ankle. Happy denim shopping!

I love this roundup!  Jeans & Ts forever and ever.  Question for the Chicago area – do you ever have to get your jeans altered to fit better, and if so do you have a favorite place to go?!ReplyCancel
