We’ve mentioned here that we like to display sweet cards from friends and family in a glass vase – a happy reminder of the people we don’t see every day. While we still store them in plain view (the vase has since moved to the media wall), we admit that some have again made their way to the (very organized, thank you!) junk drawer. Because in addition to the notes and cards we might receive via snail mail, Scott and I also exchange letters for every holiday, birthday, anniversary or why not? reason (aka, I was really hormonal and I didn’t mean what I yelled that day; sorry and love you!), too.
Together, we put aside a few favorites. Rather than leave them stuffed in a drawer, we agreed they’d be much better in the studio.
And although we may have forgotten to snag our traditional holiday ornament during last November’s 3 year anniversary trip to Grand Rapids, we did pick up a card that seemed to describe the two things we both love a lot: zombies and, um, each other.
I ordered two mats from Studio 3 and put them together using our always-favorite Ribba frames. Cheap, easy and full of sweet sentiment.
In addition to my hot bitch card (see here!), they’ve made their way to the studio shelving, which we’ll share this week! I’m still fussing with the placement of all the things; perhaps I’m making it more difficult than it needs to be.
Do you display the cute cards, too? How so? We have a few more waiting to be wrangled, but first we need to find wall space. (Perhaps the small art wall?)
How cute! Love that you guys do that…We do too – This is how I memorialize the best ones =)

Carrie, that card is great! Here’s a slew of some other “we go together like…” favorites:

Anita, I didn’t know you were engaged! Congrats! You can see the vase on our media wall in this photo:

I keep some super sentimental cards on my fireplace. Matt’s mom is one of the most sweetest women I have ever met and sends us cards for most holidays. Recently she sent us a congrats on your engagement card in which she said she loved us both very much. It brought tears to my eyes as it’s not something my parents would do. I am thinking of framing it. Do you have pics of the cards in the vase? I really like that idea.
Love it!
Such cute art! And it’s something you will look at and smile every day. :)
