We took a long weekend – leaving Thursday night for Kokomo, Indiana – for what would be a 3 day fiesta of wedding celebration and family. Scott’s brother, the youngest of the three siblings, got married in a Saturday afternoon ceremony that had me crying before his (beautiful!) lady walked down the aisle. Just watching him seat my mom-in-law got me choked up; him too.
After enough food (and beverage, of course) to keep us full and happy for days, we headed home on Sunday morning, only to spend the afternoon in a panic attack over the Penguins elimination (so lucky for you, we won’t be bringing that up again – until next year) and catching up on a week’s worth of bad television.
We’d been looking forward to the wedding since the question was popped last year, so there’s always a bit of disappointment when the too short visit comes and gos, and like it or not, you’re already setting your alarm clock for Monday morning. It was relaxing and fun – and many times, a riot! – to spend the days with family and friends we hadn’t seen since our I dos, and it was a bonus to make new friends, too. We’re so lucky to have the newest member in our family (and for me, another sister!), and as Scott would say – like he’s said before – we welcome them to the land of the hitched. It’s a fun, fun ride.
What were you up to?
Aww Scott’s brother looks so much like him! And that venue looks amazing.
This weekend, I actually did a project totally inspired by your painting of the painting table! http://zzzandi.blogspot.com/2012/04/when-i-dip-you-dip-we-dip-part-two.html
Thanks for all the tips when painting yours!
Zandi, it’s perfect – major upgrade! Glad our tips were helpful!
Congrats to the family and I’m sorry to hear about the Penguins… I know my brother will be bummed, since he’s a big fan of them too.
Awwwww…weddings are the best aren’t they? Let’s see- What did I do worth mentioning… I bought a wonderful new pillow that I didn’t need. I got the puppies nails trimmed and I succumbed to the hell that was 105 degrees and jumped in the pool about 90 billion times. Happy Monday!
Thanks, Kalli! We were pretty upset by the Pens – it was one crazy series. A hell of a ride, that’s for sure.
Jen, I’m always buying pillows I don’t need! Scott’s teaching me to scale back; slowly but surely.
Hi Kim, I’m with you about the Pens…what the heck was up with that?! And to the Flyers no less. Ugh. Thanks for sharing the wedding pics. Love the flower petals and legs/feet photo. Pretty.
Thanks, Monika! We have no words for the Pens. So unpredictable!
Congrats to you on gaining a new sister! I love weddings and it’s a highlight for my family.
Thank you! Agreed :)
