Meet Opie

When we first found out that our friend Kelly‘s baby shower was being hosted on a Friday night (and in Cincinnati), we were super bummed. (You may remember her from touring her colorful, happy home a few months ago. Man, I love a girl who loves color). Not only had we wanted to be there to celebrate each step of her new adventure (kicking it off with the shower hooplah), but we had been planning on making the trek to watch her open boxes upon boxes of baby blue onesies since the day we knew she had a bun in her oven. Unfortunately, we were unable to take the time off of work to make the 5 hour drive on a weekday night, and we had a good feeling that Jack would have been a little too lively for the shower crowd (he just loves a good party. Too much). Boo.

Rewind a month ago, and Miss K had personally requested her own puppy painting as a shower gift using her pup Opie as the super sweet model. Although we couldn’t be there in person, I worked out a deal with the gracious shower host, and she was able to sneak our surprise in with the gaggle of other goodies.

Of course we included a few playful onesies to fit in with the other onesies of the evening, and we even slipped in a gift card just for mom. Our plan went off without a hitch, and my lady was just as surprised to see our signatures on the card as we hoped she would be.

And so the puppy painting count goes up (you can find the first batches here and here). I hope to capture the mugs of our own furballs sooner than later, but until then, word on the street is that there may be a kitty or two in the works. Oh, how I love a new challenge.
