Made with Love at Anthropologie

Last Thursday, I attended the Making it Lovely // Made with Love craft event at Anthropologie; so fun. Together with my friend Jess, we made these ridiculously cute clip boards out of wood, craft paint and paper silhouettes – supplied and curated by Nicole (they are so very lovely, right?):

We snacked on champagne and cheesecake, caught up on the things that girls catch up on, and left with our tiny crafts in hand – although, I’m super bummed that I forgot my little MIL package left on each chair! C’mon, Kim! There was a ca-razy snowstorm that evening, so Scott picked me up, and I gabbed the whole way home on where to hang mine:

Behind the legs are little clips (you can see them in the very first photo, above), so while they’d be great for notes, the boy/girl theme reminded us of restroom signage. Weird, maybe, but it really does look cute on our bathroom door:

And who says we can’t still tuck a sweet note in there, too? I tacked an eye hook into the back and used a removable Command strip on the door itself – hopefully to prevent paint chipping if it needs to come down. (On a side note, we were never very into the idea of Command hooks since we tend to have a Vargo tough mentality around here – using nails and anchors for everything – but we used them on our media wall for our Christmas stockings, and they came off nice and clean. Sold.)

I’m so glad I got to enjoy the event with such great company, and big hugs to Nicole for hosting such a special event! (And by the way, how cute is her outfit? I think cute was the operative word for the evening!)

You have no idea how happy I am to see this! I love the way yours turned out, and it looks perfect on the door. Thanks again for coming out and braving the snow — I was glad to see you and Jess there.ReplyCancel

  • […] Look at how cute Kim’s turned out below! (That’s her on the right, above, with me on the other end and Jess Lively in the middle.) You can see how the little clip part works, and you can position the clothespins so that you can put notes and photos at the top or bottom, or both if you wish. […]ReplyCancel

I just have to comment and say I swear by those 3M Command strips. I use them in my rented apartment for everything. They are holding up message boards, cork boards, a giant rock print (probably around 7’x5′ in size), multiple skateboards and a random assortment of frames.

I live by those things (and the desire to get my security deposit back whenever we move). :)ReplyCancel
