Giveaway: The Frantic Meerkat

This giveaway is no longer accepting entries. Thank you to all who participated!

We gave them a shout out for our holiday gift guide, and we clog their booth at the Chicago Renegade Craft Fairs every year. So imagine our excitement when The Frantic Meerkat generously offered to give away one of their cheeky, fabulous prints to one of our very fabulous cheerleaders (aka, you). Oh, happy day!

Kim, the guru behind this Los Angeles based greeting card, magnet, and fancy shmancy art print company, uses off-the-wall (and dare I say, unconventional) phrases and pairs them with old photos, art, and clips found in one of our personal favorite places – the flea market. Using old fashioned glue and scissors (and a bit of good ol’ technology thrown in the mix), The Frantic Meerkat creates, essentially, one heck of a conversation starter.

Between these decorative magnets and catchy greeting cards (and birthday, comic, and thank you notes)…

franticmeerkat_group_web…and quirky, sassy fine art prints

…you’ll have friends and family laughing right along with you. And to get your chuckle going, The Frantic Meerkat is offering up a delicious dose of one 8×10 “Am I Pretty” art print. The image is printed on professional digital archival fine art paper and signed and dated by the artist. This friendly standard size print is ready to pop in your favorite 8×10 frame. Easy peasy.

  • I love it… I’m in!

Hmm, wacky… I suppose that looking at those animals reminds me of my own, the one with three beds. I think supporting her bed obsession is a little wacky :).ReplyCancel

  • Penina12.30.09 - 11:56 AM

I saw her booth at Renegade and thought the ostriches were pretty funny. What makes me wacky: making weird noises and breaking out into accents for no apparent reason!ReplyCancel

  • Laura De Leon12.30.09 - 12:27 PM

Why am I wacky? Because I love being an original. Doing what makes me happy without worrying about what is deemed acceptable or “normal” by society. Live your life to the fullest and you’ll have no regrets.ReplyCancel

  • angela12.30.09 - 1:21 PM

It is totally wacky how I used not at all like cats, nor did I understand why anyone would want them for pets and NOW I am totally in love with our little kitties and cannot remember life without them!ReplyCancel

  • Jennifer12.30.09 - 1:38 PM

My wackiness was inherited through family. The Frantic Meerkat and I share two branches in a large family tree of goofballs.ReplyCancel

  • chris12.30.09 - 3:10 PM

i vacuum at least 4 times a day. THAT is wacky!ReplyCancel

  • Mayra De Leon12.31.09 - 12:28 AM

    from an aspiring artist:

Wacky is blissfully unaware that it shows up at the most random moments. My wackiness shows when I let my guard down; when i meet a new guy or when I’m with friends or family- it’s there. Also, Wacky brings along friends, Clumsy, Corny, and Spaz.

Still, I embrace Wacky and its entourage, because it is a part of who I am.

    :)

I am wacky because, well, look at me. see you guys in a few hours, btw. CHILI!ReplyCancel

  • Ursula Graham1.1.10 - 6:35 PM

Awww this is way cute! Okay let me see…

I prefer a can of whole tomatoes with my spaghetti instead of spaghetti sauce. That’s pretty wacky. :)

I also second the wacky because of being a Gemini. This is a true statement and that affects me too.ReplyCancel

  • Lauren C1.4.10 - 9:02 AM

I am wacky just like everyone else in the world…. I like the taste of nuts, but not the texture…. Spend a lot of time dancing as I clean the house… try to laugh as much as possible… and not be too serious because life is short.ReplyCancel

  • Amy1.4.10 - 9:02 AM

I seem to always fight the status quo. I have an issue with conformity. If everyone is doing something you can bet I am not. Right now I am boycotting television. Yep, that’s right I don’t have any TV signal in my home. Everyone thinks I’m a little nuts but I hate anything that thinks for you. A muse is something that inspires, amusement is something that thinks for you. So I guess that makes me a little, or a lot, wacky :DReplyCancel

  • Rebecca C.1.4.10 - 9:08 AM

I really like the Am I pretty print, big cat lover here!
    What makes me whacky….4 kids??!!!ReplyCancel

  • jill1.4.10 - 9:13 AM

I’m wacky because I’m working (part time) an at home job that seems to average a dollar per hour. But it’s interesting, at least.ReplyCancel

  • Angela1.4.10 - 9:15 AM

Things that make me wacky: I’ll put peanut butter on almost anything. And I watch the Food Network all the time… and have probably only used my kitchen once a month since I moved in…ReplyCancel

  • Lana1.4.10 - 9:19 AM

If you ever saw the way I sing and dance with my boys you would think I’m pretty WACKY!!ReplyCancel

  • Sarah1.4.10 - 9:50 AM

I think what DOESN’T make me wacky would probably be a better question ;)ReplyCancel

  • Caitlin1.4.10 - 10:28 AM

I cannot touch cardboard or unfinished wooden things without first slathering my hands with lotion (sometimes that doesn’t even work). I have a serious issue with dry skin and am constantly reapplying lotion. The dry feeling of cardboard and wood just makes me want to squeal and leaves a weird feeling in my mouth. I try to steer clear of those things as much as possible.ReplyCancel

  • Teal Myre1.4.10 - 10:44 AM

What, me? Wacky? One year old daughter, equally wacky hubby, 3 dogs, two horses, chaotic parents, country living, nickle & diming pickup truck… how much space do I have?ReplyCancel

  • Rebecca1.4.10 - 11:30 AM

These prints are hilarious- and I actually remember seeing them at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago. Its funny that many of the conversations seem to mirror many that I’ve had recently.ReplyCancel

  • Angel1.4.10 - 12:01 PM

    Adorable!ReplyCancel

  • kelly o1.4.10 - 12:59 PM

I eat cookies for breakfast! or does that make me kookie?ReplyCancel

  • jullee1.4.10 - 1:49 PM

So cute and funny..I would love to win that :)ReplyCancel

  • Melanie1.4.10 - 2:51 PM

    YOU’RE WACKY.ReplyCancel

  • Kim aka Frantic Meerkat1.4.10 - 2:56 PM

You people are ALL wacky. And I agree – I’m a Gemini and I think that does contribute to the wackiness. Also, Amy, I currently don’t have cable which means no TV in my area, so we just watch netflix or dvds, which gives me a lot more time to be creative. A forced creativity.ReplyCancel

  • Aimee Bernard1.4.10 - 3:17 PM

It is BEYOND amusing you have such a print. I am madly in love with my two cats Jude and Jezebel and am constantly annoying my boyfriend with such questions, after 6 yrs.

    Do you love me?
    How much?
    Do you think I’m pretty?
    Do you like my hair?

Our love for our cats and just the inside joke about this and how nutso I am would make him laugh for days!!

I’m sure my obsessive need to clean makes me a bit wacky too!ReplyCancel

  • Sam1.4.10 - 3:36 PM

That’s funny, I just got out of a relationship that sounds JUST like that…I also love cats =)ReplyCancel

  • evamarie1.4.10 - 6:00 PM

Oh! I love this print and Jan 6 is my birthday!! What doesn’t make me wacky? Well, I like to sing songs to my rescue cat and make up my own lyrics just for her. Awww!ReplyCancel

  • Rachel W.1.4.10 - 6:09 PM

The smell of cooking butter freaks me out.

    Thanks for the giveaway!!ReplyCancel

  • Heather Buzzard1.4.10 - 7:44 PM

What a sweet piece of artwork! I really love it when people sneeze – it makes me laugh hysterically for a long time. Cheers

  • Karin1.4.10 - 8:08 PM

What makes me wacky? Um, wow, where to start!? How about I cook special meals for my boxer dog, Ozzy? And I made him a custom four poster bed? There are crazy cat people out there, but I am a crazy dog person!ReplyCancel

  • Elizabeth1.4.10 - 11:33 PM

We in this family are all a little wacky, makes it even funnier that my husbands the serious one who sits and shakes his head at us. Funniest, I am a little wackadoo moment, most recently….was when I was making a hodge podge kind of stew Christmas night after all the other family left and while cutting up the sausage I performed a little puppet sausage man song for my son and his new Flip. He’s shown it to everyone he knows now. I think it’s nice he wants to show me off! :)ReplyCancel

  • Chris1.5.10 - 6:29 AM

I consider all cats to have the last name ‘cat’. Hence my cat, Eva cat and all the stray cats in pilsen are mister/missus cat.ReplyCancel
