Giveaway: Pop Deluxe

This giveaway is no longer accepting entries. Thank you to all who participated!

To kick start the holiday season (that is, now that our bellies have been sufficiently stuffed with turkeys or tofu), we’ve partnered with the Madison gift shop institution, Pop Deluxe. The brick and mortar store located in, you guessed it, Madison, Wisconsin, is bursting with goodies for everyone on your gift list; Really. Not to mention, shopping at the PD (we’re close now, it’s cool) is a great way to support a small business – just in time for Small Business Saturday. (Bonus: use promo code “mac” for an extra 10% off through December 15th!) Seen here, clockwise from the top: whiskey lover stone set, Jonathan Adler naughty or nice bottle stopper set, mini Diana with flash, Orla Kiely laptop bag, and iHop stand.

But first, they’d like to give a little somethin’ to you – you hard-working gift giver, you. With it being Black Friday and all, some of you may be scoring deals left and right at this very moment (I mean, the discounts are getting nuttier every year, no?), but maybe the other some-of-yas are decking the halls and trimming the tree. So how’s about a free evergreen adornment from Pop Deluxe and that guy we know as Jonathan Adler? And after the holidays, we think any of the Adler ornaments would look just as sweet sitting on that teeny bare spot on the bookcase. Seen here, clockwise from top left: gorilla ornament in matte white, hippo ornament in matte whitePop Menagerie penguin ornament, and Pop Managerie seal ornament.

The details:

Up for grabs: One lucky winner will receive their choice of any single Jonathan Adler ornament. Check them out right here.
To enter: Simply comment on this post with your ornament of choice and for the heck of it, fill us in on any tree-trimming or ChristmaKwanzakuh traditions in your casa. Do you deck the halls the Friday after turkey day? Do you gather to holiday tunes and make a mean batch of cookies?
Giveaway ends: Tuesday, November 29th, 6pm EST
Shipping restrictions: USA and Canada only, please.
Bonus: Use promo code “mac” while shopping Pop Deluxe and receive 10% off through Dec 15th!

Only one entry for every email address is permitted. The lucky dog winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Wednesday, November 30th. Good luck and happy entering!

I love the owl or hippo! We are decorating our tree today!ReplyCancel

  • Caitlin11.25.11 - 9:26 AM

I love that Penguin ornament!! It’s look great hanging in my tree and then living on my bedside table the rest of the year. Every year I buy myself an ornament that represents something that has happened in my life in the last year. It’s like a hanging diary on my tree and a fun way to remember the year.ReplyCancel

  • Amanda11.25.11 - 9:29 AM

I love the owl! I’m not putting up a tree, but my dad and step mom put theirs up last weekend. The weekend of the Santa Clause parade is usually when it gets put up here in Canada.ReplyCancel

  • I’d love the hippo. Such a fun giveaway! I hope you and Scott had a very happy Thanksgiving!ReplyCancel

  • Miranda @Boucksy11.25.11 - 9:39 AM

I LOVE the cat and the squirrel ornaments! It’s impossible for me to choose just one…the squirrel is just so dang cute! My home got decorated on the 8th of November (I know, way too early.) but since we spend most of the Christmas season in places OTHER than our casa, I wanted to enjoy it — especially since this is our first Christmas in our first home! I have to listen to Rockin’ Around the Christmas tree when I decorate the tree otherwise it just doesn’t feel the same! I love how it makes everything feels so cozy!ReplyCancel

  • Grace11.25.11 - 9:43 AM

It was really hard to decide, because they are all so awesome, but I think the gorilla is my favorite. Around my house, we love to decorate the tree while watching goofy Xmas movies like Elf!ReplyCancel

  • Elisa @ The Self Life11.25.11 - 9:51 AM

Ooh, It’d be a tough choice between the elephant, hippo, and seahorse.

We’re not day-after-Thanksgiving decorators but I DID find out that most Christmas tree lots only get one shipment of trees — at the beginning of the season. So we’ll be grabbing ours sooner than later!ReplyCancel

  • Dana11.25.11 - 9:58 AM

Could they get cuter than the Mr. & Mrs. Muse ornaments??

The hubs & I usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving but jumped in a few weeks early this year, in case our babe decided to make her entrance before her due date. The due date’s here and no contractions yet, but it’s been so nice to have the twinkle lights up!ReplyCancel

  • Nicole11.25.11 - 10:22 AM

I love the peacock, how sweet! It reminds me of the Christmas store and tree farm I worked at that had a bunch of peacocks.

We are kind of Christmas nuts… we start decorating on Halloween (which we don’t otherwise celebrate). We are not done yet, but we only do a little at a time.

After Thanksgiving we usually stay home and rest, maybe casually click around the web for any super sales.ReplyCancel

  • Anita11.25.11 - 10:23 AM

The gorilla is awesome! I dont really fully celebrate anything but I like putting lights up around my fire place and I hang ornaments in my window. I am a december baby so I usually do it around my birthday.ReplyCancel

  • Crystal11.25.11 - 10:34 AM

Love Love LOVE the Fox one! So cute!

I spend the weekend after Thanksgiving working on our Holiday cards. I try to get all 75 of them ready to mail by the Monday!ReplyCancel

  • Amelia11.25.11 - 10:46 AM

i love the hippo and seal!
our family traditions include home cooked meals and secret santa! We are expecting a bundle of joy this February so it’ll be exciting to create new traditions with him/her!ReplyCancel

  • Kim11.25.11 - 10:50 AM

Love love LOVE Jonathan Adler! The hippo would totally be my pick.

I can’t decide how I want to decorate this year. I kind of want to do a mixed metals look, and I kind of want to do a jewel tones look, and I kind of want to do a blue and white look.ReplyCancel

  • Maria11.25.11 - 10:56 AM

How sweet! I love the fox. As for traditions, my husband and I don’t really have one aside from food. We typically cook some sort of roast beast, and pies and wine are always on the menu. :)ReplyCancel

  • Megan11.25.11 - 11:32 AM

    I’d like the banana one.

My husband and I are secular humanists and are trying to figure out exactly how we’d like to celebrate the holiday season when we have a family of our own.ReplyCancel

  • Valerie11.25.11 - 11:47 AM

I love the banana or the horse. I really like all of them!

Our annual tradition is to get together with my in-laws and have a second, more casual thanksgiving with all of the leftovers on Friday evening.ReplyCancel

  • Kari M.11.25.11 - 11:52 AM

I love the hippo ornament. I’m not sure when we’ll get around to putting the tree up, hopefully soon.ReplyCancel

  • kaylan11.25.11 - 12:20 PM

love the penguin. he’s just so cute. we decorate dec 1st, but the planning and prep had been happening for weeks. i love thinking ahead to the christmas season.ReplyCancel

  • Ana11.25.11 - 12:24 PM

I love the peacock. It would definitely be displayed all year round.

The last few years we’ve lived in apartments with no room for a tree so we always light the menorah (we celebrate both holidays) so it feels like we’re not totally missing out.ReplyCancel

  • tonya11.25.11 - 12:26 PM

I love the dove ornament it symbolises so much at christmas time. My traditions that i’ve done since i was a little girl was the first week of december we would decorate the house and play christmas music while doing it. Every year my parents buy me a new decoration for the christmas tree since i was born = ) Then every weekend till christmas my mom and i bake cookies, tarts and fudge for all our friends and family = )ReplyCancel

  • Liz Paton11.25.11 - 12:28 PM

OMG, I have to have the elephant! So cute!ReplyCancel

  • Kim11.25.11 - 12:47 PM

they’re all so cute! i’d want them all but i’d definitely start with the elephant & peanut!ReplyCancel

  • Anne11.25.11 - 12:49 PM

    Dying over that seal!ReplyCancel

  • Jaimie11.25.11 - 1:09 PM

Fox and Horse are pretty lovely. We don’t decorate much for the holidays, just our fireplace mantle, mostly because we go out of town to visit our family for Christmas and there doesn’t seem like much of a point of getting the whole house decked out just for my husband, me, and the dogs.ReplyCancel

  • Niki Kraemer11.25.11 - 1:43 PM

I would definitely go for the owl. My husbands mother used to collect them so he is used to be around them all the time. Now that she has passed and this is his first Christmas without her I think he would Love to see the owls make heir way into our home.ReplyCancel

  • Margaret11.25.11 - 3:01 PM

I love the hippo, so sweet.ReplyCancel

  • Meghan Crosman11.25.11 - 4:43 PM

I love the pop menagerie penguin!! Thanks for the giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • Ellen L11.25.11 - 4:53 PM

I’d have to do a lot of thinking to decide between the elephant and the hippo!

We usually decorate our tree when school is done for the term – too much exam and project stress happening right now!ReplyCancel

  • Phillip11.25.11 - 5:08 PM

I think the seal ornament is cool! On Christmas Eve, we decorate our tinsel tree and this ornament will look great on it. I already have the banana!ReplyCancel

  • Sherri11.25.11 - 5:15 PM

The squirrel is pretty awesome. I love Pop Deluxe, such a cool store.ReplyCancel

  • Samantha11.25.11 - 5:17 PM

Banana ornament for the WIN!!! That rules.

No special traditions in our house. Just bringing home loooots of leftovers in brand new to-go containers. I love getting new containers because somehow the container to lid ratio never stays the same….ReplyCancel

  • Liz11.25.11 - 6:10 PM

Awww boo, no pit bull ornament (I have a pit bull named Bella). So, in that case, I love the owl ornament, since I collect owls.

We really only have one tradition: on Christmas Eve, we take a drive with the dog in the backseat and look at all the Christmas lights. There’s a house near us that puts on a fabulous display and collects donations for local charities, and we love supporting it. :)ReplyCancel

  • Jessica11.25.11 - 7:18 PM

I love the penguin ornament! So adorable. We love to decorate for Christmas this weekend every year! Bring out the hot chocolate and Christmas music!!ReplyCancel

  • sp11.25.11 - 7:29 PM

that kiss/tongue ornament is grody. i pick that one!

  • Laurie11.25.11 - 7:42 PM

I love the prowling cat ornament. I love the holidays but don’t really have any “traditions” other than my husband is the holiday baker and his pinwheel cookies are what I look most forward to.ReplyCancel

  • Katie R11.25.11 - 8:09 PM

    I love the owl :)
We’ll deck the halls and tree tomorrow while watching white christmas. this is the first year we have a house and are thinking about doing lights! :)ReplyCancel

  • jenn aka the picky girl11.25.11 - 8:27 PM

Oh my gosh – these are all beautiful! I love decorating for the holidays and have two color schemes. My living room is black, ivory, and a pale blue-green, so I go with black and off white vintage decorations in that room and bright red and green in my dining/reading room. In fact, I plan on decorating tomorrow after I finish the kitchen project I’ve been working on all week. Thanks for the giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • Lauren L.11.25.11 - 9:43 PM

I would have to pick the car for my husband who is an automotive technician! We will start putting up holiday decorations in December or when the hubby sells his love seat (whichever comes first)ReplyCancel

  • allison11.26.11 - 7:22 AM

such a difficult decision, but i’d have to go with either the fox or the peacock. we usually decorate our tree about two weeks before christmas, but this year i’m having such a hard time waiting that long!ReplyCancel

  • Madeleine11.26.11 - 7:38 AM

I would have to go for the seahorse. I did my thesis on hippocampus in the brain! We are going to decorate the tree next weekend! Can’t wait for it!ReplyCancel

  • Jessie11.26.11 - 10:28 AM

    The penguin for sure!
As usual, I’ll be making my rum balls this weekend. They have to “age” before you can eat them at CHristmas…ReplyCancel

  • Liz H11.26.11 - 12:39 PM

I love the horse ornament! & we are going to a tree farm tomorrow, can’t wait to get all my decorations up!!ReplyCancel

  • Andrea Roth11.26.11 - 2:00 PM

im loving the seahorse! my holiday set up varies from year to year, but it always includes eventually setting the ceramic vintage santa at the foot of the tree (it was my mothers when she was a kid, and now a gift to me…) happy holidays!ReplyCancel

  • eileen marie11.26.11 - 3:30 PM

I lurve the horse ornament! We usually put up our IKEA after-Christmas Charlie Brown special the day after Thanksgiving accompanied by some eggnog laced with SoCo. However, we are getting a late start today b/c as we pulled our X-mas stuff out, we decided to clean out our storage area & were up until 1!ReplyCancel

  • Jaclyn11.26.11 - 3:47 PM

I love the owl or the squirrel.

I usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving. This year I’m waiting until Dec. 1.ReplyCancel

  • Tracy K11.26.11 - 7:12 PM

The penguin menagerie is my favorite! This year we put the tree up before Thanksgiving because my youngest had his tonsils removed yesterday. We usually do it this weekend, but I wasn’t sure he’d be up for it. Thanks for a great giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • emily @ the happy home11.26.11 - 8:09 PM

oh, gosh. i have to say– we have a set of whisky stones and they are AMAZING!

  • Whitney11.26.11 - 9:59 PM

So hard to choose! I’d say maybe the owl or the squirrel is my favorite.

We put up our tree yesterday, the day after Thanksgiving. Listening to holiday music while putting it up is always a must!ReplyCancel

  • Emily @ Our Waldo Bungie11.26.11 - 10:41 PM

oooooh! I love all of those ornaments but I think the gorilla might be my favesies!

Our Thanksgiving tradition includes attending the Nebraska game the day after Thanksgiving. No Black Friday, just a fun day of football with 85,000 of my closest friends! ;)ReplyCancel

  • Amanda11.27.11 - 9:47 AM

I LOVE the hippo ornament. We do no Christmas stuff the weekend after Thanksgiving. I’ll probably really start doing Christmas stuff next weekend.ReplyCancel

  • Katherine11.27.11 - 11:48 AM

I’ve always loved the elephant ornament. And I’m low-key about decorating. I like to put a poinsettia on the table in the center of the front picture window.ReplyCancel

  • Maud11.27.11 - 12:09 PM

I love the hippo! We usually wait until the 15th of December to put the tree up, and we open the presents on the 24th, before going to the midnight mass.ReplyCancel

  • Amanda Nowak11.27.11 - 12:15 PM

    I love the squirrel!

The squirrel makes my wife all giggly.

Once school is out {Dec 8th} we will be setting up our Christmas stuff.ReplyCancel

  • Janna11.27.11 - 5:01 PM

    I love that hippo!ReplyCancel

  • Monse11.27.11 - 5:17 PM

    The hippo! :)
We always get our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, play Christmas music, bake all weekend and hang the boots (we have a moose rack on the wall, so that’s where the boots go) Our cats go nuts with all the lights and ornaments :)ReplyCancel

  • jessica w.11.27.11 - 5:20 PM

I love the white seahorse ornament! I have decorated the tree and am making our stockings since last year we didn’t have the money for it.ReplyCancel

  • Courtney11.27.11 - 6:21 PM

I LOVE the elephant with peanut ornament! Since my college (and long time boyfriend’s college) mascot is an elephant, I can’t resist picking up all cute elephant paraphernalia! Also, every Christmas, my family pulls out a little plastic Christmas music player during gift opening, which plays really tinny, cheesy music that all of us somehow love. :)ReplyCancel

  • Rachel11.27.11 - 6:40 PM

    I love the horse ornament!

We recently moved into our first home and this weekend I actually hung up lights outside and I am so excited! Pretty soon we will put up the tree and stockings and all. For the first time in awhile we are settled and I am just really enjoying it :-)ReplyCancel

  • Jessica11.27.11 - 6:53 PM

    i love the penguin!
we’ll be putting the lights up on the bushes outside – makes it look like chistmas!ReplyCancel

  • Alichia11.27.11 - 7:00 PM

I would choose the Elephant with Peanut, so stinkin’ adorable!

Christmas tree goes up after a full day of Black Friday shopping. This year started a new tradition with a new WHITE tree and sort of color blocked the ornaments! <3 it.ReplyCancel

  • Lacie Josephine11.27.11 - 8:24 PM

I love the hippo. our tree has been up since mid novemberReplyCancel

  • Alex11.27.11 - 8:25 PM

I love the dachshund ornament in gold! The best christmas gift I ever got from Santa was our dachshund puppy 16 years ago! Since I am living far away from my family now, my roommie and I have started our own tradition of putting up the tree as soon as we both get back from Thanksgiving and not taking it down till late Jan.ReplyCancel

  • Melissa11.28.11 - 1:49 AM

The owl! I squealed when I saw it. I have an unhealthy owl obsession when it comes to my decor, and I choose to embrace it.

We usually don’t decorate until the second week of December, and we take everything down on New Year’s Day.ReplyCancel

  • Erin11.28.11 - 2:49 AM

I love the whale! I don’t know that I have any Christmas traditions. Hmmm, I make a rum cake every year, so maybe that.

  • Allison11.28.11 - 4:49 AM

I love the seahorse. Classic, yet unusual for Christmas!ReplyCancel

  • Lauren11.28.11 - 8:40 AM

    Gotta love that hippo!

I’ve found that a wreath makes me feel festive and smells just as good as a live tree, without taking up precious space in my apartment.ReplyCancel

  • Nicole11.28.11 - 9:11 AM

The hippo ornament is adorable! I’m sure I would have a hard time deciding if I actually won though!

I haven’t put the tree up, but all the other decorations went up after I went shopping on Black Friday – yes, I am one of the crazies :)ReplyCancel

  • Zahra11.28.11 - 10:48 AM

We love love love Jonathan Adler ornaments! If we had unlimited funds, we’d totally get them all. Well, a larger abode first and then ornaments. Priorities.

I’d totally love to include the hippo ornament on our tree this year…super adorable!ReplyCancel

  • Lisa11.28.11 - 10:51 AM

I love the elephant with peanut one! So cute! No tree yet, but soon!ReplyCancel

  • Kate11.28.11 - 11:27 AM

    The hippo one is adorable.

When we decorate our tree, we must listed to the Muppets with John Denver Christmas album – and I do mean vinyl. It’s not Christmas without it!ReplyCancel

  • Beth11.28.11 - 12:05 PM

Penguins?! I love penguins! Our holiday tradition involves setting up our tiny tree to Christmas music while the cat digs through all the ornament boxes.ReplyCancel

  • Jennifer11.28.11 - 12:23 PM

I love the penguin ornament! It would look so nice on our real Christmas tree – chosen and cut by the whole family!ReplyCancel

  • Trish T.11.28.11 - 1:27 PM

I’m a huge fan of Pop Deluxe and visit their brick-and-mortar store often. The hippo ornament is my fave.ReplyCancel

  • Jen11.28.11 - 2:39 PM

Oh the penguin fo sho~ We go a little nuts here. White twinkle lights in the front yard. On the trees, bushes, cactus, you name it. Then we wait to do the inside for awhile. We can’t buy our tree to early or it’s a fire hazard by Xmas eve. We then have to throw it in the pool and let it soak for 48 hours so it has any chance of staying fresh to New Years. Then a day to dry. It’s a frickin’ process! When we finally pull it in the house, that’s when the whole place gets done over. Green garland with more white twinkle lights and little plaid bows, fake trees in the other rooms with different decor, my collection of mercury glass candles everywhere. Sounds crazy but it’s really pretty.ReplyCancel

  • Julie11.28.11 - 2:42 PM

    I heart the fox ornament!ReplyCancel

  • Elise11.28.11 - 2:51 PM

i can’t get enough of the hippo… even though my family already has more than 1,000 ornaments! (literally: we have counted on multiple occasions.) but i’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for ceramics.ReplyCancel

  • Oh boy, it’s a tie between the white dachshund & the horse. hummm.ReplyCancel

  • Leslie11.28.11 - 9:44 PM

    Peace hand ornament for sure!ReplyCancel

  • Alysson11.28.11 - 10:14 PM

I would probably choose the hippo! We usually break out the tree right after Thanksgiving. Christmas tunes are a must!ReplyCancel

  • Jamie11.29.11 - 9:32 AM

Hi! I would choose the penguin. He’s so cute!
As for my humble apartment holiday traditions….I don’t have too many. It usually includes Elf, the Grinch (Jim Carrey version) and Yankee Candle holiday scents. I’ve already set up my little artificial tree with white lights, glass ball and hand-made felt bird ornaments. The main tradition, is trying to keep the cats away from the bottom limbs. They like to nibble.
    Happy Holidays!ReplyCancel

  • Diana11.29.11 - 10:22 AM

Those are the cutest ornaments, but I must pick the poodle ornament, cause I have 3 little ones at home.ReplyCancel
