It’s no secret – not even close! – that we’re a candle loving family. So much so, that if a candle is not burning, Lucy will say, Mommy, can you light a candle, please? (My girl.) But here’s something we don’t talk about often: Which candles we burn in which room, when, and why. Candles have the the power to transform the way a room envelops you. It’s a hug. A pretty living room is just that – a pretty room. But when you turn on a lamp and light a candle for the way you want to feel, well, that’s pretty magical.
Fresh and floral in the bathroom? Yes. Warm and woodsy in the living room? Yes, please! So today, I thought it would be fun to share the candles that we love to light in each room of our home. In other words, our home’s scent story.

We’re always on the hunt for new candles to love and enjoy, so feel free to share your favorite scents or brands below! We’ve been longtime fans of Sydney Hale (10% goes right to pet rescue) and Crete, but Moco is climbing to the top, too.

I’ve always loved having candles around, but feel like I have finally found my home’s signature scent! We use Vancouver Candle Co.’s High Park (white tea, mandarin and thyme) everywhere. We have even purchased their diffusers for hallways and love it!

I have a tip for places you can’t burn a candle. Last year I bought these gorgeous wax sachets on Etsy with artsy dried botanicals embedded in them. I hang them in closets, the pantry and the powder room and it always makes me smile when I open the door and smell the scent. A new favorite thing!

Thank you for featuring Sydney Hale candles!! They are some of my favorites, and I love their mission too! I am local to Richmond so of course a lot of little shops around here sell them. I think I currently have four in my stash waiting to be burned :) It’s hard to choose, but I think my favorite scent is Bergamot & Black Tea.

Just bought the (last? it said it was the last…) CRETE candle in Egyptian Fig. It looks like they’re phasing out that scent, so it was on sale. Looking forward to smelling it soon!
