Crushing on… Mauve?

Mauve. Dusty rose. Yeah, I can’t believe it either. A color once sworn off by my bold, color loving heart (as proven by a few neglected dresses of bridesmaids past) has made its way into our home.

First falling in love with all things Unison (this blanket included) at last year’s Design Harvest, I’d been keeping an eye on their site – going so far as to sign up for their mailings. And after spotting a clearance + free shipping sale pop up last week, well, I couldn’t let it slip away again. It’s so soft, and my affinity for all things snuggly and warm paired with the more than half off sale tag made it a done deal.

But, um, our oddball color attraction to doesn’t stop there. Did I ever tell you about the time I tossed our black and white bed throw in a load of bleach, and then this happened?

While Scott could have done without the change, I secretly felt guilt that I really didn’t mind. I was worried for myself then (since when did I like peachy-pink?), but you’ve recently seen me embrace my girl power when I went all coral on that apron knob.

My worries have been slightly alleviated when, in a recent turn of events, I began to notice pale, dusty hues of pinks, corals and lavenders pop up all over this great, big web. Maybe you have, too? Well, then, consider me shamelessly on that bandwagon. Er, on the bandwagon and manning the megaphone. Are we crazy? Probably. But I really, really like it.

    Haha I don’t think you’re crazy!

The only thing mauve/pink/coral related in our house recently has been smashing some of the coral tile in the guest bath during demo.ReplyCancel

You’ve probably been afflicted by the Pantone color of the year ;)

    Loren, I really have!ReplyCancel

  • While I’m not a fan of mauve, I’ve become fond of fuchsia, a far cry from my usual robin’s egg blue fav, but they go well together. You’re not crazy at all. Blame it on Pantone. :)ReplyCancel

Oh, mauve. Our entire house was painted a fleshy mauve-beige when we moved in (complete with yellow-beige trim, which we are still in the process of painting white). After a few months I couldn’t stand it, so we painted over all of it. I get chills remembering….ReplyCancel
