Happy short work week, friends! Today, we’re rounding up gifts for him or her – or, essentially, the gifts that Scott and I have chosen for ourselves. Ha! This list is always a fun one to pull together, because most of the items you see here are things we already own, love or have in our own shopping carts. They’re tried, true and sure to be a hit.
For Him: Scott’s Picks

1| The Sonos Move ($399) charges wirelessly and goes where he goes. In the workshop? Next to the grill? By the bonfire? Yes, yes, and definitely yes!
2| I’m literally wearing this heavyweight overshirt in ochre ($75) as I type this. It’s not a shirt. it’s not a jacket, but it is comfy as all get out. He’ll love it as much as I do.
3| This Whistle Go Explore ($130) helps him know the location, health and activity levels of his best friend (you know, his dog!) in real time. It can even be configured to send a text message if his pup goes for an unplanned stroll around the block without a chaperone.

4| A text clock ($27) that tells time the old-fashioned way. It’s five minutes to four, dad. Not 3:55!
5| This digital meat thermometer ($7), because he’s thisclose to perfecting his steak. I’ll never grill without mine again!
6| Dad always controls the thermostat, right? Everyone’s favorite Nest learning thermostat ($220) will allow him to do it from anywhere via his phone, so don’t mess with him. Bonus: Science says a learning thermostat will pay for itself in 18 months or so!

7| This handsome sherpa-lined trucker jacket ($80) will keep him looking stylish and warm all winter long.
8| Another iPad ($299), because everyone is always taking his.
9| He’ll love the sturdy, rattle-free TravAll pet barrier ($180, varies by model) to keep the pups securely in the way back. It’s available for most hatchbacks and SUVs and ours has made trips with the pups in our trusty Subaru much safer. The dogs love it too!

10| This awesome book ($21) is full of photos of everyday objects cut in half using a tool that I’d really like an opportunity to operate!
11| The Coffee Gator ($37) is an insulated coffee press that keeps coffee hot a full hour longer than glass. Perfect for work, on a job site or the great outdoors!
12| A great bottle of whiskey ($48) from our favorite Southwest Michigan distillery, which happens to be located in an old corset factory. After he tastes the goods, a visit will surely be in order!
For Her: Kim’s Picks

1| This sleek backpack ($78) that will completely replace her purse, diaper bag and tote. It’s made from all recycled materials with a durable (read: easy to clean) finish and all. the. pockets.
2| A physical reminder ($68) that she’s on the right path.
3| An apple watch ($170) to help her kick so much more a$$ than she already does.

4| An old-school Polaroid camera ($119), because you can’t beat the feeling of holding a memory in your hands.
5| Touchscreen friendly faux fur gloves ($92) that keep the cold out, so she can keep scrolling while waiting for the train.
6| An upgrade to a beautiful and custom leather makeup bag ($36), so that every morning feels extra special.

7| A set of Airpods ($139) complete with charging case, because that cord on her current headphones are never not tangled.
8| This super plush hotel-like robe ($98) that she’d never splurge on for herself, but you know she deserves it (so much).
9| An alphabet stacking ring or two ($19) with all the letters of her favorite people and pets, so they’re always with her.

10| This soft boucle sweater ($88) in pitch black, perfect for a night out – or in, because all she really wants to do is watch a movie with you on the couch anyway.
11| She already has the rollerball in this cult favorite scent, now spring for the spray ($98).
12| A chino ballcap ($10) in her favorite color in the perfect lived-in fit, because some mornings, you gotta rush out the door.
