I ran across this pin a few days ago (an excerpt from Happy Birthday to You!, Dr. Seuss), and not only did it make me smile, but it felt so appropriate during this whole limbo-living phase we’re dancing to. When everything else seems so uncertain that you start second guessing your every move (Heather nailed those feelings right here), just be you! Being you; that’s always a sure bet.
Over one of our ultra long dinner conversations this week, I told Scott that it made me happy, and so, he put it on our chalkboard. Aah, that Dr. Seuss. So smart.
Be who you are and say what you mean. Because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
My favorite Dr. Seuss book! We have that quote hanging in the kids’ Dr. Seuss bathroom!! = )
Annie, awesome!
Jill, that’s my all time favorite, hands down.
Heather totally nailed it with that comment. And you nailed it with your response! I’m exactly the same way (although my “limbo” is more job related than house related, and I am substituting bourbon & margaritas for wine). So. Much. Drama & Misery. I have no idea how Robert puts up with me. I also turn to my Well Said board on Pinterest in times like this.
Hang in there, Kim (& Scott).
45 minutes until I get myself an aquarium of a margarita.
Cait, thank you.
Drink up to the weekend! We’ll be doing the same :)
I have found as an adult rediscovering Dr. Seuss (I have my own kid now, so there’s a reason) that the man embedded the most meaningful concepts inside these seemingly childish stories. I particularly like this one whenever I start to feel like I should change to be more like other people, and I realize that I’m who I am for a reason. I wish you both really good luck with this whole moving process.
Love that, Athena. Thank you so much!
