Be Nice

We ordered this signed art print from Anthony Burrill way before the bikes came down in the studio. After spotting it in Kirsten’s home tour, I eagerly emailed her for the where? how much? omg!, and snapped one up for myself. Originally, I thought it may stay in it’s shipping tube for a while, you know, for my someday studio in our someday (larger) home. That is, until Scott suggested otherwise.

I’ve been going over artwork to hang in the soon-to-be studio for a few weeks now, and this is an easy favorite. Others already in the queue include my grandparents wedding photo, Milk Toof (finally!) and a handful of those old photographs I can’t resist collecting. If it makes me smile, it’s in.

After Scott announced our new year “promise” to one another, I find this print that much more made for us. A screaming match over a crown molding install does not a happy couple make; however, a little more research on the topic, hustle and determination, and I just know we’ll nail it (har-har). And remembering to be nice in the process makes it a lot more fun, too.

Have you invested in any art (DIY or otherwise) lately?

  • I’m always working on the “Be Nice to People” part :)

For Christmas, I received this “Very Many Varieties of Beer” Poster that I’ve been eyeing for our kitchen. All I need is a frame.

Sam, I could stare at that poster for far too long. I can only imagine how much Scott would love it!ReplyCancel

That is THE perfect print for your studio! So psyched@ReplyCancel

  • I’m mildly obsessed with this print. Might have to order one for my office’s gallery wall. I’ve had a huge (as in 4 ft x 4 ft) frame and canvas sitting around my apartment for months, and I’m thinking this might be the weekend I finally tackle a DIY abstract painting project I’ve been planning for them.ReplyCancel

Alyssa, do the DIY! We love, love, love over-sized art! Most of my photography projects in college were on the (very) large side – it’s just too bad they’re hiding out in a friend’s attic since we don’t have the space for them here.ReplyCancel
