A Very Merry Pet Shop Holiday Announcement! (Phew)

Dudes, it’s November. This means that 1) we are very much behind on drinking our fair share of ciders for the season, 2) hibernation season is thisclose for us Midwestern-ers, and 3) it’s about to be crazy up in here.

Crazy, because my days of painting your pets are about to kick into overdrive. The amount of continual support has been unbelievable (in that fuzzy feeling-ed, good way, of course), and with the holiday season upon us (I know, again with the crazy!), my painting table has seen nothing but the underside of a drop cloth for the last few months. This brings me to our big announcement: we are only accepting 10 more custom portrait orders this year.

But let’s back up. First, we should say that any order aiming for a pre-Christmakuh delivery date should be done so by November 11th or before we’ve received 10 orders – starting now, right here. Because once we’ve acquired 10, the PayPal button will be removed from the Pet Shop, and custom portraiture orders will be closed for the year (and re-opened in early January!).

But wait! If you’re reading this and PayPal has since been deactivated, we have big announcement number two: we are currently working on gift certificates as an alternative for the gift-giver in you.

This, of course, goes back to the holy cow, it’s November? And we’re not ready? Aye. The gift certificates will be ready for a late November debut, they’ll hit the ol’ blog on nothing short of a red carpet, and orders will be accepted through the Pet Shop as usual! The goal: so damn adorable, you’ll be bursting to put them under the tree. We’re tisk-ing ourselves that they’re not ready just yet, but trust!; they’ll be so worth the wait. And if you’re interested in pre-ordering gift certificates, please contact us, and we’ll get that ball rolling.

In the meantime, we’ll be prepping for the Chicago Renegade Holiday Fair, where we’ll be vendors again this December 3rd and 4th! In addition to Pet Shop gift certificates, we’ll also have new original art and signed prints, among other items. Oh, and candy canes. Because that’s very important, too.
