A Sudsy Switch

With flu season in full swing, there’s no better time than now to share with you our new grown-up purchase.  I work at a school where I’m constantly surrounded by sniffling, sneezing students, and I’m forever reminded of the famous mom phrase, “Don’t forget to wash your hands!”  Heck, it’s not just moms telling you to wash up, it’s also the signs on the trains, buses, and common areas of most public places in Chicago.  And who wouldn’t want to pump our latest score from Target, coming in at just 8 bucks.  Happiness really does come in a bottle.  Er, the shape of one anyway.

soap

Good bye to my days of spending 10 minutes in the soap aisle searching for the perfectly sleek one-time use plastic bottles (i.e., no lemons and flowers, no sea creatures swimming through the clear goo, and no boasting, “new design, same great formula!”), only to obsess over the extra buck for the cuter dispenser.  No more, not in this household.  Scott and I ponied up a crisp ten dollar bill for a huge jug of liquid soap (on sale for $2 with my Target mailer coupon) and this perfectly chic sudsy pump.  Wash in style, my friends.  Wash on.

It does look very nice, but I must say I’m kind of a fan of the dispensers with floating creatures (I have fish in the bathroom and octopi in the kitchen.) Speaking of germ-killing, I don’t bother with chemical santizers like Purell anymore, I really like this pocket spray that you can find at Target http://www.cleanwelltoday.com/ReplyCancel

Oh, Kalli, you know me, I can’t stand those Purell sanitizers. I feel like I need to wash my hands after using it! The spray looks pretty nifty, but I’m a bonda fide obsessive compulsive hand washer.ReplyCancel

Very good advice. My daughters kindergarten teacher tells the kids to wash/scrub their hands for at least 30 seconds. I love the soap dispenser you found!ReplyCancel

Hi Marcy, I always remember this trick: sing happy birthday while washing your hands, and when the song ends, you can consider yourself clean!ReplyCancel
