A Little Art Swap

Our neighbors and friends, Chris and Angela, have been big supporters of this Yellow Brick Home for a long while (including acting as a sort of contributor – more on that below). Living just 9 feet above our heads, the hubs and I often find ourselves marveling at the space they call home, especially since we live in identical floor plans. And while I don’t have any snapshots of their space to share (yet), I thought it’d still be nice to boast their talents while sharing some of their new art.

Chris, graphic designer of Halverson Creative, is the graphic-guy-behind-the-scenes when it comes to this little ol’ blog. Dreaming up our logo at the start of this year and whipping up sidebar buttons is his specialty. For the last few months, Scott and I have worked with Chris to discuss, nit-pick, and perfect each graphic you see on this site. And for that, we owe him and his lovely lady dinner every night for about a year.

But since we can hardly find the time to cook meals for ourselves, Chris and I agreed to a little art swap – the old school way of a little one-to-one creative sharing. And not to mention, more practical then grilling him the steaks he deserves every night until the end of this year. Rather, he designs; I paint.

And so we immortalize the mugs of their two cats, Lucy (left) and Bella (right). A little chalkboard potted plant never hurt either. But I still think some yummy, grilled steaks may be in order. Mmm. Perhaps a back-porch-picnic double date? And whatddya say…all summer long?

Those are adorable! I love the idea of the art swap. It’s usually how I “pay” for gifts from friends. :)ReplyCancel
